These gear reduction starters are made in the United States using a U.S. manufactured gear train and a DENSO electric motor.

This starter weighs about 50% of the weight of the stock starter which makes a huge difference on the failure prone rubber starter mount. The pinion will make 100% engagement of the starter ring gear.

We are using these in our own "shop" trucks and wish we had them made up years ago!  We have sold approximately 400 of these units and rarely hear of an issues.  They are rock solid.

We are no longer offering 2 versions of this starter.  All starters currently being delivered are the sealed version.

If you use the starter lug for a power terminal for accessories or winch cables, you may want to purchase the GR_LUG which extends the stock terminal lug and gives you additional room to connect additional ring terminals.  For a stock installation, this lug is not required.

Just installed the gear reduction starter and am very pleased with the product. The starter is very robust, was an excellent fit and the truck starts instantly. Highly recommended!

    Gear Reduction Starter

A spectacular improvement over the stock starter. No more cringing each time you push the button to see if you get grinding or a start. A piece of cake to install. One of the best improvements available for a Pinz.

    Pinz Gear Reduction Starter

I finally found some shop time to install this little beauty after buying it last year. WOW - I wish I hadn't waited so long! It cranks the engine amazingly fast and the engine catches and starts much sooner. It really does weigh about half the original starter and it's much easier to install - smaller and lighter. The wiring harness had to be coaxed a bit to fit but no problem. If you're thinking of getting one - don't wait. It's worth the $$.
