This program has been DISCONTINUED. We Have left the page up for reference purposes to see what the tools look like.
We can't count the number of times when a customer has caused major damage on a repair because they did not have the proper tools to do the job. Well this is about to change. EI has purchased over 300 Unimog and Pinzgauer specialty tools for our tool rental program.
1. We are trying to make the program as straight forward as possible. As a user of the tool you have the right to either rent the tool or purchase the tool outright.
2. In general we are renting the tool for 10-20% of the cost of the new tool. At the time that you rent the tool, you will be charged the cost of the tool. This will be your security deposit (less tool rental fee) if you return the tool within the specified time frame. If you decide that you would like to add the tool to your personal collection, simply notify EI that you will be keeping the tool so that we can put a replacement into the rental program.
3. We are also putting together small tool sets needed to perform specific jobs. For example on the Unimog 404 hub seal replacement we will be supplying the hub nut wrench, wheel flange puller, seal setting tool, and wheel flange setting tool.
4. The customer is responsible to pay the outbound shipping as well as the return shipping when finished with the tool. Insure the tool for the full cost of the tool when shipping back to EI. Some of the tooling will come in specific tool "crates" the tools are to be returned in the same crate.
5. Keep in mind that other members of our community may be waiting on the tool that you currently have, so use the tool and return it promptly. If you run into a problem, please let EI know so that we can help you work through it.
6. Proper care and usage is important. You are responsible for the usage of the tool. Upon receiving the tool thoroughly inspect the tool for damage. If found, do NOT use the tool and contact EI ASAP. If you are not familiar with how to use the tool, refer to the tools manual or the repair manual, for the proper usage. You can always ask EI for further instruction.
