Unimog 404 Starter - Rebuilt

Works perfectly!

So I have had this in my Mog for well over a year now and it is performing great . The original starter gave it up when I swamped my Mog and it (the starter portion of the motor) was under water for 36 hrs . It only lasted a few days beyond that . I examined this unit closely when I got it and it did not look like a typical "rebuild" . I could not find anything on it that would suggest use of any kind . Regardless , i am pretty sure you will be happy with it . My electric motor guy said that unless I somehow damage the rotor , the starter design is "eminently" "rebuildable" . So keep your core . Either rebuild it yourself , or have it done . Life requires a "spare" .

I blew up my old starter trying to crawl up a hill after my clutch went out. The truck made it a pretty good distance before the starter went so it must be a pretty good product. I replaced the old starter with a new one from Expedition Imports and so far it operates exactly as expected. These starters are expensive which is why it doesn't get 5 stars.
